One of CMT’s Next Women of Country, Lindsay Ell is more than just your typical Country Music Artist. She’s a phenomenal guitarist who is always crafting her trade.
If you follow her on social media such, you’ll find her constantly working on her music. It almost seems to never stop. Even when Ell is delayed at the airport, she’s busting out her gear and working on her latest creation.

Country artist, Hayley Orrantia, has just released her latest single “Strong Sweet & Southern” written by Orrantia, Mark Bright and Kevin Kadish, who also produced the track. Orrantia is originally from Texas, where she began singing and writing music at the age of 13. Some of you may be familiar with Orrantia from ABC’shit comedy, The Goldbergs or from The X Factor where Orrantia reached the Top 9 a part of the group, Lakoda Rayne in 2011.
Today, Orrantia has been starting to make a name for herself in the music industry. Not only did Orrantia play the role of Brooke Thawley in God’s Not Dead 2 but, her song “Silence You” is also played during the ending credits. Orrantia was also apart of CMA Music Festivalthis past summer where she played on the Music City Stage. There she dazzled the crowd with her charismatic personality and powerful vocal performance.
For the past few years, Orrantia has been going back and fourth to Nashville to continue writing new music. Orrantia has written with songwriters such as Corey Crowder and Mark Bright on her debut single “Love Sick” along with others. Orrantia also released a second song “Until Then” with a Spanish version to it as well titled “Hasta Verte.” All three songs benefit from incredible songwriting and raw emotion behind every verse.

Orrantia has just released her latest song titled “Strong Sweet & Southern” about boys who need to “step it up.” This latest song is a bit different than Orrantia’s previous releases sound wise, but it still has the same elements that made the other songs so great. The song has an almost jazz vibe to it, but still sounds like you would hear it playing out of a jukebox at a diner with you drinking sweet tea. The song focuses on what type of guy Orrantia is looking for:

The song’s lyrics has many analogies on the bases of how Orrantia grew up and the type of guy she expects to find. The guy needs to have the qualities, strong, sweet and southern, hence the title of the song. The song also uses many analogies to fully covey the message of the song. Orrantia does this well with quick comparisons like life growing up in Texas with the line:
Cooler than Grandma’s lemonade / Hotter than Texas pete
Overall, Orrantia does a great job in painting the picture of the song. The song has a catchy chorus that you will be humming along to throughout the day. You could also play it for that one guy who just is not getting it. “Strong, Sweet & Southern” will be a song that you will be playing nonstop. Country duo Megan & Liz have recently released their latest song, “Almost.” This comes just a few months after the release of their second EP, Deux. Some of you may recognize the duo from their YouTube videos, where they have uploaded various covers and originals. Previously, they were a pop duo and had great success after winning Macy’s iHeartRadio Rising Star Campaign back in 2012. Flash forward a few years later and they have decided to shift career paths and become a country duo. Now, they have fully embraced the new direction and have found their sound.
“Almost” immediately draws you in with the harmonies of the duo along with a catchy banjo strumming in the background. “Almost” is a song about a past relationship that almost worked but due to timing and distance didn’t work out.

Freakin’ Deacon Friday has taken on a whole new meaning for fans of the man that plays Deacon Claybourne on the tv show Nashville, Charles Esten! The movement, which started during the shows run on ABC and was used to help save the show is now be used by Esten to bring his own music to the fans! Oringally the hashtag was used to share the love of Esten and his character Deacon Claybourne. As the show continues, the line between Esten and Deacon is becoming more and more blurred! Esten has became a familiar face at the Grand Ole Opry. He’s also been on the road with Nashville in Concert!
Now Esten’s releasing his own music, something that his fans have waited for, for quite awhile. “Through the Blue” is the first song Esten has released but he promises it won’t be the last! He plans to release a new song every Friday in honor of Freakin’ Deacon Friday! It’s been a busy summer for Esten who has been on tour with his fellow castmembers and they spent most of May and June petitioning with fans to bring Nashville back! They and the fans succeeded and the show will return for season 5 on CMT and hulu!
Esten’s new song “Through The Blue” is one of the first times we get to hear Charles not his alter ego Deacon Clayboure sing! His debut single as himself “Hot One” was released last year! “Through The Blue” is reminiscent of the country music in the 90’s with its sound but the lyrics are clearly about today’s world! The song is all about how to get through the rough spots in life, those moments that make you feel like there’s no light at the end of what ever tunnel you are in. That rings true with the chorus of the song

LISTEN TO CHARLES ESTEN’S “THROUGH THE BLUE”
After the release of “Through The Blue” Esten took to Twitter to inform fans that he would be releasing a single every Friday, with an end date that’s yet to be known! In a Q&A he did on Monday night he said that a number of songs where ready to go and he is in the process of writing many more! He let fans know that he would keep going every single Friday as long as he has music to put out and that the fans were still enjoying it!
Besides releasing new music every week, Esten has been on the road with his cast mates sharing the music of Nashville all over the world! He has also been rasing money for the Lupus foundation by allowing fans to purchase tickets that would allow them to ride his tour bus around Nashville and take in the sites and hear stories of Music City! The event which he first held in June right before CMA Fest, is slated to happen again sometime in October this time with a concert attached!
Miranda Lambert is back with a brand new single “Vice” which is presumably from her new record, expected in the coming year! This single is easily one of the most anticipated songs of Lambert’s career!
The song premieres just a few weeks after the one year anniversary of her drivoce from Blake Shelton. While both parties have moved on with new relationships, Shelton with Gwen Stefani and Lambert with Anderson East. Fans have been curious to see if her music would reveal anything about what happened in her personal life as Shelton revealed some of his pain in the album he put out earlier this year.
“Vice” is a new sound for Lambert as her songs are usually filled with twang, fiddles and girl power. Written by Shane McAnally, Josh Osbourne and Lambert, “Vice” paints the picture of a girl who is not as strong as she wants people to believe. She finds herself falling into old habits and patterns. We get to see the softer and more vulnerable side of Lambert in this song as she lays out the insecurities females often face.
