Miranda Lambert Releases New Single “Vice” – Listen!

Miranda Lambert is back with a brand new single “Vice” which is presumably from her new record, expected in the coming year! This single is easily one of the most anticipated songs of Lambert’s career!

The song premieres just a few weeks after the one year anniversary of her drivoce from Blake Shelton. While both parties have moved on with new relationships, Shelton with Gwen Stefani and Lambert with Anderson East. Fans have been curious to see if her music would reveal anything about what happened in her personal life as Shelton revealed some of his pain in the album he put out earlier this year.

“Vice” is a new sound for Lambert as her songs are usually filled with twang, fiddles and girl power. Written by Shane McAnally, Josh Osbourne and Lambert, “Vice” paints the picture of a girl who is not as strong as she wants people to believe. She finds herself falling into old habits and patterns. We get to see the softer and more vulnerable side of Lambert in this song as she lays out the insecurities females often face.

Another vice / Another call / Another bed I shouldn’t crawl out of / It’s 7am with shoes in my hand/ Said I wouldn’t do it but I did it again / And I know I’ll be back tomorrow night.

It’s clear that Lambert is reaching new depths with her song writing, and taking everything that’s happened in the last year and channeling it into her new album! Lambert said as much in an post to her social media accounts the day “vice” came out!

The last year of my life has been one of heartache and healing, … Of learning to be honest …. Accepting the flaws and celebrating the smiles. Finding peace in dark places … having some moments alone with me. Facing fears and feelings… All of them. I got to know my guitars…became friends with a pencil and paper … Used melodies to lead me places I had never been…. Made music with my friends. Because music is medicine. This means the world to me. Thank you for joining me on this journey.

The last year of my life has been one of heartache and healing, … Of learning to be honest …. Accepting the flaws…

Raelynn Releases Powerful New Single “Love Triangle” Inspired By Her Parent’s Divorce- Listen

2016 has been a big year for Raelynn. The 22 year-old married Josh Davis, left Big Machine Records and Joined Warner Music Nashville, and now the next milestone. Raelynn released her new single “Love Triangle” on Monday. For longtime fans of The Texas native, the release of “Love Triangle” has been a long time coming! Raelynn has been performing the song on radio tours and in concert for some time now. It has yet to appear on a album till now.

“Love Triangle” is a autobiographical song that was written by Raelynn, Jimmy Robbins and Nicolle Galyon. Galyon is actually the reason Raelynn auditioned for The Voice, and since The Voice which both of them competed on, the two have penned most of Raelynn’s songs together.

The song which was written several years ago, and is a look at how a divorce affects the child in the situation. While most people would think love triangle applies to a romantic relationship, Raelynn sings about how she’s in a love triangle with her parents.

With lyrics such as: Southern Belle statue /Standing in the screen door / Watching her whole world / Head for an old ford / With a man that can’t look her in the eye / The I run, to him / Big hug, jump in / And I cry for her / Out the window and the lyrics Patsy Cline echoes back off the dashboard / Staring at my boots and the dusty old floorboards / Baby, two weeks ain’t really all that long. / Then I run, to her / Wrap my arms, around her skirt / And I cry for him out the window.

“Love Triangle” Is a unique look at what a child of divorce sometimes goes though and the feeling of being stuck in a middle is something they sometimes face. That feeling is what led Raelynn to write the song; she was 18, living in Nashville and she found her self in the middle of her parent’s issues. She took those feelings and wrote her pain at the situation into a song.

“Love Triangle” only shows a fraction of the growth Raelynn has achieved since The Voice. Gone are the big dresses and long hair with a flower in it. In its place is a short haired, spit fire who is ready to show the world who she is at 22. She told CMT Canada about her struggle with her image and how the commituty of Nashville sees her

“I feel like Nashville has watched me grow up in front of them, which is cool but it kind of sucks at the same time because you get pigeonholed, like, ‘Oh she’s the girl with the long hair that wears fairy dresses.’ That was me at one point because I was new and I was young. But we all grow up. We experience life, and I’ve done that. I moved here, I lived on my own, I lived in an apartment with a roommate, and now I’m married and have two dogs. So, your life changes, and this record shows that.”

Raelynn is busy working on putting together her debut album. She is leaning heavily on her former The Voice mentor and new label mate Blake Shelton.

“A lot of the record he’s helped me pick. Anytime I’d write a new song and I was passionate about it, I’d send it to Blake … I feel like every artist in this town, they have to have somebody that supports them and helps them. It takes a village and it takes people to support you. Blake’s been that for me. And honestly, I don’t know if I’d be here right now with all the fans, notoriety and relationships I’ve created, if it wasn’t for him, his love for me as a person and his love for my music. I’ll just never forget him turning that red chair around for me, hugging me and whispering in my ear, ‘I’m going to help you no matter what.’ And he meant it. And I’ll still hold that near and dear to my heart every day.”

“Love Triangle” is avabalie on most digital retailers! Raelynn is spending her summer and fall on tour with her former mentor Blake Shelton! More information can be found at raelynnoffical.com

Gallery: Kelleigh Bannen Dazzles at the Draper James Summer Concert Series!

Summer is all about hanging out with friends and enjoying life! We had the honor of doing just that Thursday night with our girl Kelleigh Bannen at the Draper James Summer Concert Series. We have tons of videos and photos to share from the event!

The performance is part of a summer concert series that the Reese Whiterspoon owned store is putting on. The event had a very fun-filled Summer vibe to it, which fits perfectly with a lot of the songs Bannen sung! She preformed a 9 song set in a very unique setting, the window of the store! Guests mingled for about 30 minutes before Bannen took the stage, browsing the racks of clothes and enjoying the sweet Tea with Vodka! The beverages inspired Bannen to sing her song “Only Smoke When I Drink.”

Bannen’s set consisted of some new favorites from her newly released Cheap Sunglasses EP along with some of the songs that made us love her in the first place. The crowd was also treated to a brand new song that hasn’t even been demoed yet!

Musician and long time friend, Teddy Christenberry was there to add some guitar and vocals to the performance. It was clear that this was a special moment for Bannen, who had childhood friends, family and fans cheering her on!

The crowd definitely got a good taste of her Cheap Sunglasses EP as she performed 4 of the 5 songs off it, including our favorite “Welcome To The Party.” It definitely got everyone into a festive mood and set the evening off right!

Another favorite song that hasn’t officially been released but has been in a lot of Bannen’s setlists at concerts was “Broken Record Hearted.” It’s one of those songs where you have to clap along to and sing along with the chorus round and round we go / round we go

Bannen’s momma was in the audience so it was the perfect time to sing “Momma Got  A Gun.” She let everyone know her momma may be packing her gun! Daddy got a girlfriend / Momma got a gun. OH SNAP!

Bannen filled us in on some behind the scenes secrets while performing “Landlocked” which has been receiving radio play! It’s also on her EP! The Music Video for “Landlocked” was actually filmed at a house on 12 south! WATCH IT HERE.

The intimacy of the show sure felt real as Bannen played a powerful new song that was inspired by an instagram post. This was one of the first times “Pretty Beautiful” has been heard as it hasn’t even been made into a demo yet! She told the crowd:

“When I first got in this industry, I felt like I needed to change myself and be perfect all the time in order to be accepted and in order to prove to my record label and to everbody else that I could do it. I feel like that came from a very young and inexperienced place that my worth was somehow based on my appearcance. I saw this quote on Instagram and it was like ‘We’re so concerned with being pretty, that we forget about being prety strong, pretty kind…’ I brought it into this co-write with Scott (Stepakoff) and said ‘could this possibly be a song, is it going to get cheesy, I really don’t like to do cheesy but I really think this could be a cool message.’ So essentially we wrote it to a beautiful woman who is physically beautiful but who doesn’t know that what’s most beautiful about her is all these other things. I got to play it at a Make-A-Wish Foundation event and it was like wow! I want to be doing things like this and talking about things like this more often.”

She finished the night with the title track from her latest EP “Cheap Sunglasses” which is sort of the anthem to her taking the risk of leaving her label and starting this new adeventure. Thanks to her courage and bravery, we have an amazing five song EP and hopefully more music on the way!

Thanks to Draper James and Kelleigh Bannen, none of us cared about being Landlocked on a hot summer night!

Florida  Georgia Line Release New Single “Smooth” – Listen!

Florida Georgia Line has released the second song from the upcoming album Dig Your Roots! “Smooth” is just that, a smooth love song. The first thing that stands out about “Smooth” is the baseline, which is actually the sound of Bullfrogs! “Smooth” which was written by Brian Kelley, Tyler Hubbard, Nicolle Gaylon and JordanSchmidt uses a lot of strong analogies to describe the female subject of the song.

LISTEN TO FGL’S NEW SINGLE “SMOOTH”

With its unique background music and lyrics like Smooth / Like a Tennessee walker / Just a walking on the water / You’re smooth / like a Sunday morning Elvis / Singing Gospel it’s a hell of a groove / like the lines on her mercury / Girl you’re put together perfectly. The song is sure to be another hit for the boys of FGL!
This is the second song to be released from thier upcoming album Dig Your Roots which is dropping on August 26th! The boys promise that this CD is unlike anything they have ever done and that is clear just by looking at the tracklisting! The album features 3 collaborations; Tim McGraw joins them on the song “May We All,” Ziggy Marley appears on “Life is A Honeymoon,” and the last collaboration is with The Backstreet Boys on “God, Your Mama, and Me.”

Brian Kelley talked about the collaborations on this album saying:

“Collaborating with Tim McGraw, The Backstreet Boys or Ziggy Marley alone is already super surreal for us, but to have them all on this album is pretty mind-blowing.”

Tyler Hubbard explains why having The Backstreet Boys on the new album is so surreal!

“These three artists were huge influences on both of us musically; BK’s first concert was The Backstreet Boys and they were my first album!”

We had the pleasure of talking to Kelley and Hubbard at this year’s CMAfest, see what they had to say about the new album! It can be read here!
