Taylor Swift Performs at The Bluebird Cafe 14 Years After Being Discovered There!

Great news Swifties, the Country Taylor Swift has Risen! Swift performed as a surprise guest at the Bluebird Cafe, (where she was first discovered 14 years ago), as part of a documentary to celebrate the historical 35 years of the establishment.

Swift sat alongside Chris Wiseman and told a story of their first co-write together. She came in with some ideas that he didn’t really understand, but she went home and finished the song anyway, that song was “Love Story” and it’s the song that crossed her over from Country to Pop right from the beginning. “Love Story” became Swift’s first number one on Billboard Pop Songs, marking the highest peak by a country song on the chart since Shania Twain’s “You’re Still the One”. It is her best-selling single to date! She couldn’t help but play it for the intimate crowd at the Bluebird.

The Bluebird is known for it’s Writers’ Rounds where singer/songwriters perform songs that they have written, even if they aren’t the ones who sing it on the radio. Swift shared how normally she doesn’t have those chances until Little Big Town recorded her song “Better Man.”

“I wanted to say a big thank you to the Bluebird Cafe. I think any songwriter in town would echo my sentiments and say that this is kind of the only place where this exists – this particular place where you get to come and hear the writer’s take on the songs they’ve put out into the world. When I would play writers nights … I didn’t have the experience of a writer, writing something and then it going out into the world and you earing it from someone else’s perspective until recently. Little Big Town gave me the opportunity to feel that way … to be at the Bluebird and play a song you’ve maybe heard on the radio.  I will always be forever grateful to them for that.”

Taylor Swift Reacts to Winning Her First Song of the Year CMA Award for “Better Man”

I don’t know what’s more emotional, seeing Taylor Swift win her first CMA Award for Song of the Year category for “Better Man”, or seeing her in a plaid shirt and curly hair like it’s 2008 again! The whole thing combined just hit us all right in the feels!

Just two days before her much anticipated 6th studio album, Reputation drops and she is really out there winning awards! Swift is also gearing up to perform on SNL on Saturday night!

Karlie Kloss was there to present the award and Little Big Town who recorded the song, accepted on Swift’s behalf since she couldn’t be there. The award for Song of the Year is only awarded to the Songwriter, not the artist who recorded it, so they said in their acceptance speech that they, of course, didn’t write it, and Taylor couldn’t be there tonight.

“Hey um, we didn’t write this. Um, we’re really grateful that Philip checked his email one night and that song was in that email because he doesn’t check his emails. So we wanna say thanks to Taylor Swift. She couldn’t be with us tonight. But Taylor, wherever you are, thank you for this beautiful song, for loving songs and loving Nashville.”

Little Big Town + Taylor Swift’s “Better Man” Earns 2nd Week at #1!

Little Big Town‘s lead single from their new album The Breaker (out now) spends a second week at #1! The tune was penned by none other than Taylor Swift and the group has had a lot to say about the songwriter! This is the group’s third single to reach #1!

(Phillip) “I think we wanted people to hear the song without any preconceived ideas. Let the song stand on its own two legs. It’s a beautifully written song, and that was really, out of respect, let it be heard that way.”

(Jimi) “Taylor is the biggest pop star in the world. Along with that title comes a lot of extra things, people wanting to know who she wrote the song about, and all these other conversations, other than the song, which was a beautifully written song, which Taylor does well. So we wanted the song to stand on its own merits, because it’s a great song, and she’s a great writer.  I think she kinda liked that.”

(Kimberley) “She’s such an amazing songwriter, for her as a songwriter, to have the song come out and be accepted, and blow up before they found out who wrote it meant everything to her as a songwriter.” – Country Countdown USA

The first week at #1, “Better Man”  was also Mediabase country panel’s most-played and most-heard song for the February 12-18 tracking week. It received ~8,381 tracking week spins (+550) and ~57.269 million tracking week audience impressions. (Via Headline Planet)

Now, during it’s second week at #1, “Better Man” is Mediabase country panel’s most-played and most-heard song for the February 19-25 tracking period. It received ~8,670 spins tracking week spins (+289) and ~58.944 million tracking week audience impressions.  (Headline Planet)

Taylor Swift‘s Super Saturday Night concert finally happened! It was a night that we will remember “All Too Well,” a song that Swift performed especially for the fans, who chanted it out last year during her only concert of 2016 in Austin, TX.

Swift’s cats even made the trip to show their support backstage. By support, that clearly means no one else is allowed in the dressing room.

On stage, Taylor revealed to the audience that she would not be going on tour this coming year when she said:

“I want to be really honest with you. As far as I know I’m doing one show in 2017 and as far as I know this is that one show. By coming to this show tonight you are officially attending 100% of this years tour date.”

Prior to Swift’s headlining performance, actress Ruby Rose amped up the crowd and hit the turntables for a DJ performance in front of a packed house of celebrities, NFL athletes and invited guests. Portions of her DIRECTV NOW Super Saturday Night Concert will be available on Taylor Swift NOW at a later date. More here.

Swift captivatedthe audience with first time performances of “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” and “Better Man.” She made sure to tell the crowd that Zayn sadly was not there, and she didn’t want them to get their hopes up, but that she was there to sing “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” and the crowd erupted in cheers, because she is who they came for.

A Must Listen, Liddy Clark’s Cover of “Better Man”

The hottest song right now is definitely “Better Man” sung by Little Big Town and written by Taylor Swift. The song is currently sitting at #10 on the Country charts and is one of the fastest rising songs.

Country starlett, Liddy Clark has released her version of this powerful song. Clark has performed at festivals like CMA Fest and is quickly gaining fans over social media as she releases cover videos of meaningful songs.

I know I’m probably better off on my own
Than lovin’ a man who didn’t know
What he had when he had it
And I see the permanent damage you did to me
Never again, I just wish I could forget when it was magic
I wish it wasn’t four am, standing in the mirror
Saying to myself, you know you had to do it I know
The bravest thing I ever did was run

Sometimes, in the middle of the night, I can feel you again
But I just miss you, and I just wish you were a better man
And I know why we had to say goodbye
Like the back of my hand
And I just miss you, and I just wish you were a better man
A better man
