Hey everybody, we’re back among the living. I know it’s been a minute since we’ve blogged but we’re back and are going to continue to keep our most dedicated fans updated on everything Thompson Square. So much has changed for in our lives over the past 3 years. As many of you know we were blessed with Cooper, our son 20 months ago and he has been the center of our universe. Getting ready for him then having him and now getting used to this little person being a part of our life has been an adjustment but all we can say is that it has by far been the most amazing, rewarding thing we have ever known.

It’s been nearly 5 years since we’ve given you guys a new album and that is also changing. We’ve recently finished our 3rd studio album and we believe it’s the best record we’ve ever made. Working with producer Nathan Chapman has been a completely different process and so much fun. With no restraints we have been able to record the songs that we wanted and what we believe you will really dig. We can’t wait for you to hear it.

We’ve started a weekly live feed on Facebook every Wednesday called “WinoWednesday.” It’s a chance for us to talk to you directly and play all kinds of music both new and old and even some covers that you request. So grab a glass of wine and your favorite pair of sunglasses and join us every Wednesday. Times will vary but it’s usually 9pm CT. We’ll have special guests from time to time too. It’s a lot of fun.

October is Thompson Scare month. Post a picture of your pumpkin or your Halloween costume with the #ThompsonScare and you’ll have a chance to win prizes from us.  See all the details on our Facebook page or Instagram. This is our favorite holiday of the year and we are looking forward to sharing some of it with you.

Our first ever-acoustic tour is just around the corner. This is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time and are finally getting to it. Be sure and check out the dates and get your tickets for our “This is Us” tour on thompsonsquare.comand our Thompson Square Facebook page. It’s going to be a completely different experience. Hope to see you soon.

Ok, so I think we’re caught up at least for now. Be sure and keep up with us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Taylor Swift Earns 9th #1 at Pop Radio With “Look What You Made Me Do”

Congratulations are in order for Taylor Swift who just earned her 9th #1 single at Pop Radio with “Look What You Made Me Do.” “Look” also spent three weeks at #1 on top of the Billboard Hot 100 Charts! With “Look” earning a #1 spot at pop radio, it’s safe to say the lead single off Swift’s upcoming album Reputation is a success! Swift is also the only solo female artist to reach #1 on Pop Radio in 2017! Talk about an accomplishment!

Taylor Swift Invited Fans Over To Listen to ‘Reputation’ in London Secret Sessions!

“Look” becomes the ninth pop radio #1 for Swift. Singles that previously topped the chart are: “Love Story,” “You Belong With Me,” “I Knew You Were Trouble,” “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space,” “Style,” “Bad Blood,” and “Wildest Dreams.”

Reputation is due out in less than a month and fans already got to listen to it at the London Secret Session! Just take a look at the photos below!

Tim McGraw + Faith Hill Release “The Rest Of Our Life” on 21st Wedding Anniversary

Tim McGraw  and Faith Hill are no strangers to successful music, careers, and marriage! The two Country Music Legends just celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary in a big way!

Not only did Tim + Faith release their new single “The Rest Of Our Life,” but they also announced details about their collaborative album together, of the same name which will be out November 17! “The Rest Of Our Life” was co-written by Ed Sheeran, Amy Wadge, Johnny McDaid, and Steve Mac.

The-Rest-of-Our-Life

Tim + Faith admitted they were nervous to hear the song since it was being pitched by Sheeran, who has built up a pretty big name for himself and has been topping all of the charts! They told Radio 1 they didn’t want to not like the song, which happens sometimes when they get pitched one. However, there was no need to worry, because pretty much anything Sheeran writes is gold and they instantly connected with the song, saying it’s how they felt when they decided to get married.

“Sitting with you in a dark room
Warm by a fireplace
You know there’s just something about you
You brighten my day
I got something to run past you
I just hope I say it right
So I take your hand and ask you
Have you made plans for the rest of your life?”

Taylor Swift’s is About to Show The World What They Don’t See With New Album ‘Reputation’

Holy Swift, a new era is upon us! Taylor Swift announced her 6th studio album which officially has a name, Reputation. The album is due out November 10th, exactly 3 years after the release of her single “Blank Space.” The significance? “Blank Space” was all about the “Taylor Swift” the media saw and portrayed. They made her out to be this crazy/boy obsessed dating machine. Although we don’t know much about Reputation, here’s what we do:

Swift started the promo to her new album by releasing parts of a snake video. The final video revealed that it was indeed a snake! The significance? After some Kimye drama last year, Swift’s social media accounts were flooded with Snake emojis. In other words, they were saying Swift is two faced, a backstabber, sneaky and deceptive.

Swift didn’t come to play and is known for taking something negative and turning it into a positive. Just take her song “Mean” for example. It was inspired by a journalist who tore Swift to shreds after her GRAMMY performance with Stevie Nicks, who normally sung her praises. Swift went on to receive two GRAMMYs for that song. Iconic.

What else do we know about Reputation? Well, the font used is the same that Kanye West used for his album Life of Pablo. Swift is not taking this one lying down. After West wrote an explicit song saying that she owed him sex, because he made her famous, and calling her explicit words, she is taken back the narrative.

The album cover also features a very confident Swift. She isn’t backing down, she isn’t covering her face. Her bangs have been slicked back, she’s staring at everyone head on. Half her face is also covered in newspaper font, which could quite possibly refer to all of the media and headlines about her that are only filled with half-truths.

Swift’s social media outlets were recently wiped clean, everything from Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, Instagram and even her official website. The coding on her website said “IveGotABlankSpace” with more coding that said “ThatsWhatTheyDontSee” which are lyrics from her song “Shake It Off.” Both songs were in reference to the media, and haters and judgment. So who exactly is the Taylor Swift the public doesn’t see? She’s about to let the world know on November 10, 2017 when her 6th studio album drops!

Her new single “Look What You Made Me Do” is out now! Watch the lyric video:

Jury Finds David Mueller Guilty of Sexual Assault and Battery Towards Taylor Swift

DHNuwvxVwAArrpP

It is a happy Monday indeed as Taylor Swift can finally put this Sexual Assault trial behind her. The jury unanimously voted in her favor finding that Andrea Swift (her mother) and Frank Bell (Radio Liasion) did not interfere with David Mueller‘s (Former radio DJ) contract and are not granting him any money. Mueller was originally seeking 3 million in damages. The jury also voted in favor of Swift’s counterclaim, awarding her $1 and more importantly saying that yes, Mueller in fact assaulted Taylor Swift and yes he did batter her.

What this says to women is that you do not need to be afraid to come forward and speak out when you are sexually assaulted. No one has the right to touch your body unless you give them permission. That is not limited to rape, it includes touching of the body even over clothing.

For more information on the details of the case, watch below:

After the four hour deliberation, Swift released a statement thanking her team and also noting that she realizes how fortunate she is to be able to afford such great lawyers and resources to fight this case and she will be donating to help other victims of sexual assault fight their cases.

“I want to thank Judge William J. Martinez and the jury for their careful consideration, my attorneys Doug Baldridge, Danielle Foley, Jay Schaudies and Katie Wright for fighting for me and anyone who feels silenced by a sexual assault, and especially anyone who offered their support throughout this four-year ordeal and two-year long trial process. I acknowledge the privilege that I benefit from in life, in society and in my ability to shoulder the enormous cost of defending myself in a trial like this. My hope is to help those whose voices should also be heard. Therefore, I will be making donations in the near future to multiple organizations that help sexual assault victims defend themselves.”

Swift’s lawyer stated after the case was won:

As I said, I think it’s a new day [for workplace sexual assault]. I think it is a new day because someone with the guts and the courage to stand up, with absolutely no upside in doing so, [has done so]. Taylor Swift has told everyone: this is it, the line is drawn.

Swift can now begin the next chapter of her life. We’ll be cheering her on every step of the way.
