The album features faith-based songs that were chosen by Deborah Evans Price. The album complements the popular book, Country Faith, which was written by Price. Price is an award-winning author/journalist who has worked with publications such as Country Weekly, CMA Close Up and AOL’s The Boot, along with various other publications. Price also has written for Billboard for 22 years, which just adds to her long list of accolades. During Price’s career she had the opportunity to interview artists such as Willie Nelson, Charlie Daniels, Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney and Don Henley.

Price reflects on the latest project:

“I’m so excited about this collection of songs on Country Faith Volume 2,” says Evans Price. “The album opens with ‘Pray About Everything,’ Luke Bryan’s upbeat celebration of the power of prayer, and the project continues with such compelling songs of faith as Brad Paisley’s ‘When I Get Where I’m Going,’ Wade Hayes’ ‘What’s a Broken Heart for You,’ Brooks & Dunn’s ‘Believe,’ and many others. Country artists/songwriters have a unique perspective on faith and God’s grace, and I think listeners will find a great deal of comfort and inspiration in these powerful songs.”

In addition, Time Life Music will feature the Country Faith book in a national TV campaign in January for its new Faith, Hope and Country package featuring Bill Cody as host. Also, popular family restaurant chain, Cracker Barrel, will exclusively carry Country Faith Volume 2 in all of its 630 locations. Along with the 13 songs on the standard release, Cracker Barrel will carry the Cracker Barrel edition of Country Faith Volume 2. This special edition album will feature the two exclusive tracks, “God Sends A Train” by American Young along with “Give Me Jesus” by Mo Pitney.

We had the opportunity to interview Price recently and talk about the latest project which even has a new jewelry line you can shop here!

Mo Pitney Releases Highly Anticipated Debut Album ‘Behind This Guitar’ – Listen

Mo Pitney has officially release his debut album, Behind This Guitar. This is Pitney’s first major release with his record label, Curb RecordsBehind This Guitar features 12 songs with something every music fan will love, with Pitney co-writing 10 of the songs. Pitney comes in with a fresh new voice that perfectly encases raw country talent. The album features many stories that anyone will be able to relate to with the traditional country flare that will keep country fans begging for more. Pitney’s sister also sings on the album, it looks like good genes run in his family!

The first track on the album is titled, “Country,” which is country through and through. “Country” (co-written by Bobby Tomberlin and Bill Anderson “Whispering Bill”)  is a song about what life is like inside the country and explains that you do not necessarily have to be in the middle of nowhere to experience it.

Let me tell ya ’bout country / Country can be in the middle of the city / Country can be on a farm / Country ain’t even a place on the map / It’s a place in your heart

Pitney explains that “Country” is not a place that is accessible by car, plane or train, which is a common misconception. Instead, it is a place in which everyone can visit, their heart. “Country” talks about various situations that everyone can experience no matter their location in the world. There is much more to the perception of what “Country” really is other than if you grew up on a farm or not. It is not that black and white.

One of the most upbeat songs on the album is titled “Everywhere,” which is a song that new and old country music fans will love. “Everywhere” was co-written with Phil O’Donnell and Dean Dillon, which features elements from traditional and modern country music and perfectly mends the two together to create one perfect piece.”Everywhere” is song that will have fans singing at the top of their lungs along with the tuneful chorus and is the current single!

Everywhere / Every step / Every sunrise, every sunset / Every word I say, every night and day / Every single moon / Everything I do / Everywhere

WATCH MO PITNEY SINGING “EVERYWHERE” AT HIS ALBUM RELEASE PARTY IN LA!

“Everywhere” is a song about what it is like being with that one person that you love and cannot picture your life without. It’s that feeling you have knowing that they will be with you every single step of your life. The pace of the song along with the music fits the tone of the lyrics and the story of the song. When you find that one person you just want to scream it out and you have so much joy spending your life with them. “Everywhere” will be a song that everyone will be begging to be able to experience in their owns lives, it is the soundtrack to an everlasting relationship.

The title track “Behind This Guitar” (written by Phil O’Donnell, Casey Beathard, and Don Sampson) is a story about where one’s love for music came from and the life of an artist behind a guitar who may feel stuck. “But from time to time it feels like I’m trapped and somehow trapped behind this guitar.” The life of a musician is not always as glorious as it seems, but they would not trade it for anything in the world and are thankful for the opportunity presented in front of them.

Behind this guitar / Is just a boy who had a dream in his heart / Behind this guitar / Is just a guy who can’t believe he got this far

The song also explains how it is not just Pitney behind the guitar, that it took people who believed in him and the man upstairs that blessed him with his gift.

But thanks to Him / My family friends / Knows who got me where I am / You know who you are / Now with that in mind / The truth is I’m not the only one behind this guitar

Throughout the entire song is a somber acoustic guitar carrying along the melody and setting the tone for the story that is unfolding. “Behind this guitar” is a song that does not only apply to musicians, but can be compared to anyone’s life. “Behind this guitar” is certainly going to be a fan favorite and is a stand out on the album.

Overall Behind This Guitar is one that has many stories about life experiences and the journey through life. Including songs like “It’s Just A Dog” which is about finding a stray dog and going through life with it. The song speaks about how a dog is something more than just a pet, they will stick with you through even the toughest times and how they are not just a dog. The album also talks about taking the chance on talking to someone who you may be interested in. You have to “Take That Chance” to start that beginning of your story and if you freeze, you may miss your chance at a fairy tale ending. Pitney brings a breath of fresh air to the country scene with his debut album. Pitney defines what country music is all about with his debut album and will be the discussion among fans all around. With it’s true-to-life stories and personal experiences, it is something that will connect with anyone young or old.  Every song has its own purpose to fill the story that will shape and define the person Behind This Guitar.

The talent that will be gracing the stage for day 2 is insane. With artists such as Mo Pitney, Chris Stapleton, Joe Nichols, Lee Ann Womack, John Fogerty, The Band Perry, and headlining the night is none other than Carrie Underwood. Get ready because day 2 is going to be crazy.

Artist Spotlight

Mo Pitney is taking the stagecoach stage for the first time this year. His current single “Boy & A Girl Thing” is climbing the charts Pitney and proving he will be a household name sooner rather than later. You might have heard some of his other hits such as “I Met Merle Haggard Today” and “Country”.

With 2 GRAMMY wins and a #1 single “Nobody To Blame,” Chris Stapleton is taking the music industry by storm. Its no wonder he was asked to perform at Stagecoach this year. With six weeks at number 1, Stapleton also has various other number 1 hit songs for other artists under his belt. Stapleton is currently climbing the charts with his current single “Fire Away.” If this song is anything like his other #1s we are sure to see him up at the top of the charts very soon.

Joe Nichols is returning to the stagecoach festival after his killer performance in 2013 with hit singles such as “Sunny and 75” and “Gimmie That Girl.” We are sure to see some amazing things from Nichols this year. His current single “Freaks Like Me” with give the crowd a rise! Nichols is sure to leave it all on the stage and leave the crowd wanting more.

What can be said about this next performer but ‘Legendary Female Icon in Country Music?’ Spanning several decades Lee Ann Womack has given us songs such as “I Hope You Dance” and “Something Worth Leaving Behind.”  With her talent and song list this performance is sure to be nothing short of spectacular. Womack’s current single “The Way I’m Livin” will take the top spot on the stage night two.

John Fogerty. That’s it!!! What more can be said about this man. Legendary and Icon Fogerty is returning to the Stagecoach festival after his performance in 2008. He brings with him songs such as “Born On The Bayou,” “Mystic Highway” and “Don’t You Wish It Was True” along with his latest single “Fortunate Son.” This is sure to be one of the best performances of the night and one of the most anticipated.

But wait there is more!!!!!!

The Band Perry is taking the stage for the third time in Stagecoach history after their performances in 2012 and 2015. They bring to us their latest single “Live Forever.” It follows past singles such as “Better Dig 2,” “Chainsaw” and “If I Die Young.” With this being their third year they are no strangers to the Stagecoach crowd and they are sure to bring a spectacular show that will leave all the fans shouting for more.

THE HEADLINER

Who better to close out night two than a legend in her own right. Multi-time GRAMMY Award winner Carrie Underwood. With a list of hits a mile long Underwood is the perfect person to close out a night of high energy performers. Underwood brings to the stage her latest #1 song “Heartbeat.” We are sure to hear her other hits such as “Two Black Cadillacs,” “Blown Away” and “Before He Cheats.” These could be encore songs as this Country Diva has many songs that will keep the crowd rocking through her entire set. It is no doubt that if the crowd is loud like in the past years she has performed (2008, 2011) an encore will likely happen.

With a lineup like this night 2 of this 10 year anniversary is surely to be memorable for all those in attendance. If you haven’t bought your tickets for this epic three day festival you better hurry and get them before they sell out. You don’t want to miss this festival for anything. Again the festival is April 29-May 1 in Indio, CA at the Empire Polo Club.
