ABC may have dropped the TV show Nashville, but that hasn’t stopped fans from saving it! CMT has officially picked up the show for season 5! Hulu will also have the episodes available to stream the next day!

On June 10, 2016 almost a month after ABC cancelled the hit TV show Nashville, it found a new home. It was announced at CMA Fest that Lionsgate TV had reached an agreement with CMT and HULU to bring the show back for a full 22 episode season.

The news was celebrated by both cast members and fans during Nashville star Charles Esten‘s performance at the Riverfront Stage. Fellow cast members, Clare Bowen and Chris Carmack joined him on stage to celebrate the news.

It has been a long month for the cast, crew and fans of the show. When ABC cancelled the show fans, cast and crew began campaigning on Twitter and other social media to bring the beloved drama back. A petition from Change.org that started circulating the day after the cancellation had reached 171,000 signatures.
While the show was still airing Cast, crew and fans live tweeted the new episodes with the hash tag #BringBackNashville then after the ABC series finale of the show fans started a Nashville rewatch with a number of cast members joining in on rewatching the series from the beginning.

The Show will air on CMT, with HULU airing the episode one day later. No word yet on which cast members will remain, when fliming will begin or when the show will start to air. Fans still have plenty to celebrate though, that the show they love will have another year to tell the stories of music city.
