Sneaky Swift strikes again! This time, both Taylor and her brother Austin Swift have teamed up to try to outsmart us all. However, Swifties were on the case when Taylor tweeted out a cover of her song “Look What You Made Me Do” on Killing Eve. The song is available on all streaming devices and iTunes.
Taking a look at the credits, we see Swift poses as a producer on the song, under her pseudonym Nils Sjöberg, which was the name she used to hide the fact she wrote a song (“This is What You Came For”) that Calvin Harris released. She also used the name on a tombstone for the LWYMMD music video.
Swift met Killing Eve series writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge last year when they did SNL together. She apparently asked her then about her brother, Austin singing on the soundtrack for the show.
So who is singing on the track? It’s listed as “Jack Leopards & The Dolphin Club.” Back in 2012-2013, Austin’s twitter name was in fact “The Dolphin Club.” He also wore a shirt with the same name, which is the cover of the song, conveniently with his face covered. However, fans were quick to find the original, revealing it is in fact a picture of a young Austin.
Those sneaky Swifts are having a good laugh, as Swift herself is not allowed to re-release her old music until November, two years after her former contract with Big Machine ends. Now there’s one way to get around it!
It’s 2019, three years since Taylor Swift essentially dropped off the face of the earth after an “apocalyptic” summer and almost two years since she dropped her previous album reputation. During the years that followed, Swift gave no interviews and adopted the philosophy of “there will be no explanation, there will just be reputation.”
Now that Swift has been able to regain some control of her life, maintain a loving and healthy relationship with her boyfriend of three years. and navigate not being in the public eye, she is ready to talk. She sat down with Rolling Stone reporter Brian Hiatt who previously did her cover story nearly 7 years ago. It was a day she remembered, as they got into not just one, but two car accidents. They decided not to drive this time around, a safe choice.
“It’s weird, because in some of the worst times of my career, and reputation, dare I say, I had some of the most beautiful times.” @taylorswift13 looks back on the tumultuous past three years of her life in our latest cover story https://t.co/PDIryPTygwpic.twitter.com/15S5yW5k4k
During the reputation era, Swift was not giving interviews. Now that she has entered the Lover era, she is finally able to share her thoughts. Things got so bad, she had to physically give up control of everything she normally tackled, to gain some sort of hold on her life. She was in a downward spiral and even went so far as having the internet removed from her phone. No, she hadn’t heard the conspiracy theories about her being some kind of Aryan Goddess and she thinks that is “disgusting.”
She would also like to move on with her life and stop talking about “negative shit all day” *cough Kanye West.* However, she did talk about him, to offer up some kind of explanation as to why she was so upset with the line “I made that bitch famous” and how it was essentially the straw that broke the camel’s back. It was the final moment in a series of events over the course of many years where she decided she could no longer take it anymore, that she was done trying to seek his approval and stand up for herself.
There were several things we gained after reading the interview, along with our hearts breaking over the amount of turmoil and stress she has been dealing with for a very long time.
She found love among the chaos, along with friends she now knows will be there for her even when everyone else hates her.
She realized she had to live a quiet life so that people didn’t feel entitled to it being open for debate and dissection.
She’s grown a lot over the last few years and has set healthy boundaries, but she will always be honest in her music, even about issues she may not speak about in interviews.
She has a lot of regrets about the way she has handled many things, from relationships/friendships/politics/decisions but she has been able to disengage from the public’s perception of her and learned how to become level. “I regret a lot of things all the time. It’s like a daily ritual.”
She masterminds her own business. Deal with it.
She hasn’t been to therapy because “it takes so long to download somebody on the last 29 years” of her life and who better to talk to, then her mom? Which makes the line in “Soon You’ll Get Better” Who am I supposed to talk to? What am I supposed to do? If there’s no you” all the more heartbreaking.
Can you believe Taylor Swift is doing Secret Sessions again for her new album Reputation? It’s been 3 years since 1989 was released and Swift started hosting a series of Secret Sessions in multiple cities like Los Angeles, New York and Nashville. She even did international ones. London is the first Secret Session of the Reputation era which took place on October 13!! Swift herself said she loves the 13 and fans were wondering if something was going to happen!
Fans in attendance even got special keychains just for the event! Of course, they were in the shape of a snake! Swift even wore a snake ring and boots!
There were roughly 100 people at the London Secret Sessions from 13 different countries! She really does love the 13th! Fans described the album as darker, shady, better than Red, the best album she’s ever made… and according to a fan, Taylor herself described 1989 as an afternoon album and Reputation as a night time album. Which leads us to believe it’s something very dancy!
There was also a track that made everyone cry and we are wondering if it is track 5, since track 5 is typically the saddest song on the album, think “All Too Well” “Dear John” “White Horse” “Cold As You” and “All You Had To Do Was Stay.”
As far as the menu goes, according to so some secret sessioners, there were Reputation cookies, biscuits and chicken nuggets! Swift’s mom, Andrea told fans that she did not want to do interviews for her upcoming album but she does want to do Secret Sessions. With so much of her past two songs making jabs at the media, it’s not surprising Swift doesn’t want to do a bunch of media. You don’t get to take swipes at someone all the time, then suddenly want to be in their good favor again to get the attention. Being good to people all the time and being authentic will pay off in the end.
We can’t wait to see what else Swift has up her sleeve! Check back for more photos from the event!
