The country music stars tied the knot in an intimate oceanside ceremony Saturday evening, exchanging vows in front of family and friends on the beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The Grammy-nominated singer walked barefoot down the aisle and wore a simple, classic gown with lace details by Berta, while “Kiss Somebody” singer Evans wore a tux by Joseph Abboud. The newlyweds exchanged David Yurman rings with customized messages engraved inside.
It’s hard to imagine surviving WWII and still being able to share those stories first hand with family. That’s not all WWII Vet Cyrus Porter loves, he also is known for his love of Taylor Swift‘s music! He’s seen the superstar in concert twice during the 1989 tour and has dreams of seeing her again on the next tour! He’s even grown closer to his children and grandchildren over the special bond!
Porter didn’t have to wait long for another concert, this time one that came straight into his living room! That’s right, Swift took time December 26th to surprise Porter and his family by flying out to see them! Swift’s dad posted a video of the big surprise!
Just flew to Missouri to visit Cyrus Porter, 96 year old WW II veteran, and huge Taylor fan. What a great man. What a great day!!!!!!

My Popo was ecstatic! He was grinning from ear to ear and even had tears in his eyes. The first thing he said to her was ‘How did you get here?’ He loved every moment. He told her how he was proud of his family, his country and Taylor Swift!
Porter was diagnosed with cancer this year but is staying strong to see Swift again in concert. Prayers are with him and his family. Thank you for your service and for living life to the fullest.
Most of us know that Taylor Swift‘s favorite movie is Love Actually. Her best friend, Abigail Anderson shared a photo of the two of them celebrating Christmas together with what we think is a spin on a quote from the movie: “Love actually is all around.”
Whatever the inspiration for the caption, it’s got us feeling loved and festive! So glad Swift was able to celebrate Christmas with friends and family! Anderson also posted a photo with Swift’s Mom’s dog, Kitty.

We had just been at my parent’s house randomly having a night of watching bittersweet old home tapes of all these beautiful family memories that were made in this little, old country house I grew up in that I now have. We came back to that house afterwards and he had somehow pulled off having my sister + brother in-law sneak off and completely decorate my childhood bedroom in the most nostalgic and perfect Christmas decorations. I was bewildered and confused when I saw it all and turned around and the song “Two For The Road” by Henry Mancini was playing (this song is so emotional and sweet..it’s one of my favorites..you have to go listen) and he was on his knee with a baby pink velvet ring box and the sparkliest thing I’ve ever seen! 💖It was so special. Kelleigh Bannen is one of Variety Beat’s favorite human beings. She’s more than just an amazing artist, but she’s also a really incredible person. Bannen recently released her EP after parting ways with her record label so she could be free to release her music. It was a hard decision, but ultimately the best one for herself and the fans. Over the past several years she has released a few singles, but has never been able to put out a collection of music in the form of an album or EP. She’s stated before that it’s hard to keep the connection with fans alive when you’re only releasing one single every 18 months. So she took the risk, she started her own blog, own podcast, released and EP and five music videos to go along with every song on it!
In a recent interview with AXS Bannen talks about the important of being real with herself and with fans so that false perceptions aren’t made. Life is many things, it’s beautiful and tragic. Sometimes we only share with people the really great things and try to keep the bad to ourselves. But it’s sharing those moments that are hardest that allow us to be the most vulnerable and most understood.
“I think it’s really important to show, not just the Instagram version of yourself to fans, and I love Instagram. I also think, that as a woman, the worst thing I can do for younger women or for women who are in a season where they need to be growing, is present an image that my life is perfect or easy or that I always look like I’ve got my act together. I don’t want people to buy in on such a level where they think they have to expect that of themselves too.”
She also shared advice and encouragement for everyone:
“Know what your unfair advantage is, know what you’re so good at, but no one else can really do it. And whatever that is, like for me, it’s really about what’s the story I’m telling, how can I use my heart and who I am in a way that’s going to be completely different from anyone else. The sooner you figure that out, the more doors you’ll have open for you.”
