50 year ago, the Country Music Association Awards were formed. To celebrate the 50th anniversary, a special project was put into motion. A music video, that showcased the talent that has been around since the early years of the association, along with artists who are still performing today and all of these artists that will forever represent and be a part of Country Music.

They were able to get GRAMMY winning Director, Joseph Kahn to make the vision a reality. As with all of Kahn’s creations, he really was the mastermind behind it all. In the making of video, we see the idea for wanting all of these stars to sing a song that represented the last 50 years of Country Music, Kahn suggested a mashup of multiple songs to tie everything together. It makes for one emotional journey, especially with the imagery. The songs include Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You,” John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” and Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again.”

The video was shot in front of green screens, and the end result is a beautiful work of art as we see cities being built and changing from town to town, as is much of the life of a touring artist.

2005

The Ryman can be seen coming together and then fading away as life takes on this journey, but yet always lead back home.

The video ends with a shot of Dolly Parton, singing one of the most recognizable and global songs to date, one that she wrote herself “I Will Always Love You.”

The song encompasses all of these artists and every Country Music artist who ever was and will ever be. It represents the listeners and the relationship artists have with them, the industry, the life. Country Music.

Dolly Parton Sets The Record Straight About Her Thoughts On Politics

Country legend Dolly Parton is speaking out about a interview that was taken out of context! Parton released a statement clarifying the comments she made in a recent interview. The statement reflected Parton’s personality and quick wit.

“This morning while I was watching the news I saw many reports that I had endorsed Hillary Clinton. My comment about supporting a woman in the White House was taken out of context. I have not endorsed Hillary Clinton nor Donald Trump. I try not to get political but if I am, I might as well just run myself ’cause I’ve got the hair for it, it’s huge, and they could always use more boobs in the race. But seriously, I have not decided who I’m voting for, but no matter what we’re gonna be suffering from PMS, Presidential Mood Swings.”

The statement comes after numerous reports were released saying that Parton had endorsed Democratic Nominee Hillary Clinton. The question came up when she did a phone interview with New York Times, when asked how she felt about a female presidential nominee and Parton responded:

Well, I think that that would be wonderful. Hillary might make as good a president as anybody ever has. I think no matter if it’s Hillary or Donald Trump, we’re gonna be plagued with PMS either way — presidential mood swings! But I personally think a woman would do a great job. I think Hillary’s very qualified. So if she gets it, I’ll certainly be behind her.

Parton’s sister Stella Parton defended her sister saying:

What an honor it was to sit down with Stella Parton during our recent trip to Nashville!

Parton is the younger sister of Dolly Parton and has made quite a name for herself over the years! She recently released her 18th studio album, Mountain Songbird. The album has 13 songs, 11 of which are a tribute to her older sister.

I have been asked many times throughout my career to record an entire album of her (Dolly’s) music, but in my heart and mind, I never felt I could ever do her music or performances justice. So in the end, while making the decision to record this tribute album of eleven of my favorites, I decided to sing the story songs because they resonated with me the most. Dolly has always been my favorite songwriter, although I grew up in a family chocked full of them. It was indeed a daunting task to choose eleven of my favorite songs from a catalog so vast. I have chosen to sing them as sincerely and respectfully as possible and I hope you can hear that in my humble and honest approach to my sister’s beautiful songs. I am pleased and honored to share my sister tribute.

In our interview, Stella explained the difficulty of having to choose only 11 songs out of over 3,000! It’s amazing to think Dolly has written that many! The sisters also teamed up to write a song together for the project and Stella told us it will be coming out as a single soon!

WATCH OUR INTERVIEW WITH STELLA PARTON

Dolly has listened to the album and couldn’t be more proud of the way it turned out!

Stella is a great singer, entertainer and songwriter. All the more reason I am so proud she decided to do a tribute CD of my songs. She was there from the beginning of my career and always complimented and encouraged me in my writing. I admire and respect the way that she chose to do my songs. She stayed true to the original spirit in which I wrote them and yet found a way to make them her own. I really love how they turned out and I think you will, too. It’s been a personal source of joy to be able to hear this loving tribute from one sister to another and just to be able to work that closely with her. I am especially proud of the song we wrote together “More Power To Ya.” I hope you will enjoy this CD as much as we’ve enjoyed working on it for you.

Stella will also be in the sequel to the movie Coat of Many Colors which is based on her family and largely Dolly’s life growing up. The sequel is titled Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love and will be centered around their family’s Christmas traditions, an unexpected blizzard and the start of Dolly’s singing career.
