Jason Aldean Scores 17th #1 And Announces New Album!

Monday was an exciting day for fans of Jason Aldean! Fans awoke to the news that the Macon native’s latest single “Lights Come On had made it to the top of the charts making it Aldean’s 17th #1!! The song which premiered on the ACM awards the night Aldean was named Entertainer Of The Year is the lead single off his 7th Studio album. Little has been known about the album until today. It was just announced that his 7th album They Don’t Know will be released on September 9th! Also revealed were the cover art and the track list!

They Don’t Know will once again be produced by Michael Knox, Jason’s longtime producer. The album which features 15 songs also features a duet that may be surprising to some! Kelsea Ballerini joins Aldean on the track “First Time Again.”

They Don’t Know will be different then the past couple projects from Aldean, he told Rolling Stone Country earlier this year that the album goes back to the roots of the first few albums!

“This album really does go back to what I do best. When you go back and listen to Wide Open and My Kinda Party… It’s sort of the combination of those two albums. It’s just getting back to what we do. At the end of the day, our core sound is up tempo rock and roll, and the slow to mid-range things are a little country. That’s the system that works for us.”

He also went on to say that this album will have a more mature sound now that he was older and has been in country music for 11 years.

“As you get older, your subject matter of songs starts to change. The things that I cut 10 years ago when I was first getting started, I would not necessarily cut those songs now. I like to think I’m older and a little bit wiser than when I started, but that’s probably debatable. Well, the older part isn’t debatable!”

Jason Aldean “Lights Come On” Video Out Now!

Jason Aldean just released the video for his new single “Lights Come On” and it’s a love letter to the fans. Which is fitting given all the milestones Aldean has surpassed at this point in his career. “Lights Come On” was written by Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line along with Jordan SchmidtJimmy RobbinsBrad and Brett Warren. The song is a perfect fit for Aldean who is a road warrior, this year alone he’s on the road from mid-January till the end of October.

The song encompasses what a concert feels like; it captures the environment of a show perfectly. Right down to the way the air changes right before someone goes on and how it’s always one big party of love and laughter. The song has some great lyrics that are reminisce of songs that can be found on FGL’s albums but Aldean makes the song his own by adding his signature heavy guitar riffs and solid drum beats. The song even gives a shout out to his fans, thanking them for showing up and spending their hard earned money on his concerts and music.

Here’s a little something to thank y’all for showing up

It’s fitting that this song was premiered on the ACM’s earlier this year. That night Aldean hit a new career high, he was crowned the ACM Entertainer Of The Year, Something that had alluded him ’til that point.

The video is mainly shots from his tour, but there is some added footage, such as voice over monologue from Aldean and a few shots of him in the desert or in his bus. All of the scenes put together makes the video seem like a mini movie.

“Lights Come On” is the lead single from Aldean’s next album which at the moment is unnamed and has no release date, but rumored to drop this fall. Until then, Aldean has more than enough to keep him busy, his Six String Circus Tour just kicked off last month and he’s scheduled to be out on it till October. He’s also slated to be part of the Good Morning America‘s concert series on August 26th. Aldean is also busy producing Tyler Farr‘s newest album as well as gearing up for another season of his reality show Buck Commander!

It’s safe to say Aldean isn’t going to be slowing down anytime soon and there is a lot of exciting things still to come!
