Album Review- ‘Summer’ EP by Cassadee Pope

As summer begins, many new tunes are sure to be heard while listening to country radio stations, one of which will be released from powerhouse vocalist Cassadee Pope this month, “Summer.” The Summer EP was released on June 3rd and has been a highly anticipated EP among fans, who have anxiously been waiting for another album. Pope, winner of The Voice Season 3, has not released an album since her debut to country music with Frame By Frame.

Pope  was not one to disappoint, releasing four tunes that easily capture the essence of summer and individuality. Lyrics such as “you played me like a piano” (“Piano,”Track 2) and “somehow they mean more, kisses at airports” (“Kisses at Airports,” Track 3) draw a diverse crowd in, from vengeful teenagers with broken hearts to grown adults with a loved one overseas. Each song shows off the powerhouse vocal capabilities that allowed her to win The Voice, and captures your attention with catchy beats. If you are a fan of “Think Of You” (By Chris Young and Cassadee Pope), this EP is very similar to the hit song and is just for you! Even though the EP is called Summer, we think we might just have this stuck in our heads long after summer comes to an end!
