Taylor Swift Performs “This Is What You Came For” at Her Only Concert of 2016!

After a full year of performing her 1989 World Tour, Taylor Swift just performed her only concert of 2016 at Formula 1! Energy was high and the crowd was 100,000 strong for the concert! Swift just got a cold and told the crowd “Of course you play one show in one year and you get a cold one time and it’s before that one show, that’s the way life works.

Today also marked 4 years since Swift released her 4th studio album Red.

Swift even took time to meet some of her fans before performing.

Swift also performed the song she wrote for Calvin Harris, “This Is What You Came For” and told the crowd:

“As a songwriter, the most rewarding feeling, in the world is writing something and then having a crowd sing it back to you because they know the words. It’s the coolest thing in the world. I’ve never played this song live before, but if you know it, maybe you could sing along and then I could get to know what that feels like, to hear it sung back to me.”

Taylor Swift Performs “This Is What You Came For” for the First Time!

On the 4 year anniversary of Taylor Swift‘s 4th studio album, Red – we have been blessed with so much promise! Swift is performing her only concert of 2016 tonight at Formula 1 and she has been sharing video clips in preparation for the big day!!

Thanks to this video clip, we have a good feeling she will be performing “Fifteen,”off her sophomore album, Fearless.

She will also be performing “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” off Red as she posted another band rehearsal clip!

What’s more, she also will be performing her beloved hit “You Belong With Me.”

 

If that’s not enough, we have confirmation that Swift will be performing the song she wrote for Calvin Harris, “This Is What You Came For.” It will be the first time she has ever performed the song!

Taylor Swift To Headline Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix!

Good news for Swifties, dying to see Taylor Swift perform this year, it was just announced she will be headlining Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix in Austin, TX. The performance will take place on Saturday, October 22, 2016. Tickets go on sale April 6, 2016.

This is the first time Swift will be performing for the event which is expected to draw in 100,000 new fans. According to Forbes, it will be have the “biggest economic impact and the highest attendance in the history of Formula One.”

COTA chairman Bobby Epstein says of Swift:

“The top performer in the world right now is Taylor Swift and she will perform on the Saturday before the race the following day. It will be a one-off show. Her only show in 2016. We think we can bring in 100,000 new people and put on the biggest show.”

According to Forbes, Swift’s fee will be one of the highest-ever paid to an individual performer!
