It’s hard to believe Taylor Swift‘s latest record, 1989 is already two years old! It’s been a week of anniversaries! Swift’s 4th album Red just celebrated it’s 4th birthday, her debut album Taylor Swift the 10th anniversary and Speak Now it’s 6th!
Although fans have been anxious for news of a 6th album, it still doesn’t seem possible 1989 has been out for two years. It broke records by becoming Swift’s best selling album during the first week of sales, and her 3rd to cross the 1 million mark during the debut week. It made Swift the only artist to have 3 albums sell over a million copies during the first week! Seriously, how amazing is that?
1989 gave Swift two more GRAMMYs and her music video for “Bad Blood” set a veto record (at the time of release) for most views in 24 hours and is about to reach 1 billion views!
Swift was able to create an app to accompany her “Blank Space” music video that won her an Emmy! App goals!! The video is nearing 2 billion views on youtube.
Good news for Swift fans is that she has been in the studio working on some new music! We can’t wait to hear it! Here’s hoping 2017 is good to us!! What’s your favorite song from 1989?
