Interview: Deborah Evans Price’s ‘Country Faith Volume 2’

The latest in the hit Country Faith music series, Country Faith Volume 2, was released on November 18th through Word Entertainment. The album proceeds Country Faith Volume 1 which was released back in December of 2013. This album features songs of today and from the past with well-known artists including Luke Bryan, LeAnn Rimes, George Strait and Phil Vassar.

The album features faith-based songs that were chosen by Deborah Evans Price. The album complements the popular book, Country Faith, which was written by Price. Price is an award-winning author/journalist who has worked with publications such as Country Weekly, CMA Close Up and AOL’s The Boot, along with various other publications. Price also has written for Billboard for 22 years, which just adds to her long list of accolades. During Price’s career she had the opportunity to interview artists such as Willie Nelson, Charlie Daniels, Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney and Don Henley.

Price reflects on the latest project:

“I’m so excited about this collection of songs on Country Faith Volume 2,” says Evans Price. “The album opens with ‘Pray About Everything,’ Luke Bryan’s upbeat celebration of the power of prayer, and the project continues with such compelling songs of faith as Brad Paisley’s ‘When I Get Where I’m Going,’ Wade Hayes’ ‘What’s a Broken Heart for You,’ Brooks & Dunn’s ‘Believe,’ and many others. Country artists/songwriters have a unique perspective on faith and God’s grace, and I think listeners will find a great deal of comfort and inspiration in these powerful songs.”

In addition, Time Life Music will feature the Country Faith book in a national TV campaign in January for its new Faith, Hope and Country package featuring Bill Cody as host. Also, popular family restaurant chain, Cracker Barrel, will exclusively carry Country Faith Volume 2 in all of its 630 locations. Along with the 13 songs on the standard release, Cracker Barrel will carry the Cracker Barrel edition of Country Faith Volume 2. This special edition album will feature the two exclusive tracks, “God Sends A Train” by American Young along with “Give Me Jesus” by Mo Pitney.

Country Faith Volume 2 overall is a perfect collection of faith-based songs that will strike the heart of anyone who listens. Each song tells a story about their faith in their own unique way over a series of various circumstances. Anyone listening to the album will be able to connect with the songs, along with strengthening their faith. There is something for everyone on the album, no matter their age or background. Hillary Scott Releases “Love Remains” Lyric Video – Watch

Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum is about to release her solo album projects she’s been working on with her family Love Remains. The album is set to be released July 29 and was recently plugged by Boyz II Men after a Billboard article came out saying Scott has been influenced by their music!

The lead single “Thy Will” has been making powerful waves through the music community as Scott shared the inspiration behind the song had to do with her miscarriage. Although Scott is a Country Artists, she is making a faith based album with her family! The songs so far have truly been inspiring, encouraging and uplifting.

Hillary Scott “Thy Will” Music Video Behind The Scenes – Watch!

Hillary Scott bravely shared the meaning behind her new single “Thy Will.” It was inspired during a very hard time in Scott’s life as she suffered a miscarriage. It’s still hard to think about and Scott was emotional talking about it.

The behind the scenes video is very insightful as it explains some of what might have been a little difficult for everyone to understand. In the original video, Scott can be seeing untying knots in a rope – the behind the scenes video explains that.

Shane Drake, the Director of the video explains:

“The idea of the knots is that we sort of tie these knots ourselves and we untie them only to let go and create the same problems for ourselves again instead of just trusting in God, we sort of just try to force the answers… You get a clear perspective of experiencing God’s will.”

Hillary Scott’s Miscarriage Inspired Her Song “Thy Will” – Watch The Powerful Music Video

Hillary Scott of GRAMMY winning trio Lady Antebellum took to her Instagram Monday morning to announce that she will be releasing an album with her family titled Love Remains on July 29! Scott released the lead single “Thy Will” in April, and had teased a project with her whole family for some time.

The music video for “Thy Will” is similar to a mini movie and gives the audience an even deeper understanding of the song. It takes place in a picture perfect forest and a log cabin. Scott is shown in a simple white dress walking through a cabin and then out into the woods where she’s following a rope.  She follows the rope filled with knots and begins to untie them. Almost as if she wants the problems to have never happened. Towards the end she goes back to the rope and puts the knots back in… Almost as if to believe that everything happens for a reason and it’s not our will but God’s will. 

Scott’s husband Chris Tyrrell and their daughter Eisele Kaye Tyrrell are also in the video. There’s a hint of a lost baby very briefly, which is what inspired the song. The video tells a story of a person’s struggle to understand why tragic things happen and about continuing to believe that God as a bigger plan.

Scott appeared on Good Morning America Monday morning as well to tell the story of why she wrote “Thy Will” Scott revealed that she suffered a miscarriage last fall and that was one of the reason she had started on this journey of making this album of hymns with her family.

 

 

For now Scott is back to touring with Lady Antebellum, but is doing a lot of press for her new project. Fans can look forward to the new music from Scott very soon! It’s a great way to showcase her voice apart from the songs she does with Lady A.
