Taylor Swift‘s 4th single off Reputation is “Delicate!” Isn’t it, isn’t it? The album’s first single “Look What You Made Me Do” shot to #1 on the Hot 100 for three weeks and also reached #1 on the Top 40! “…Ready For It?” went on to hit the top 10 and “End Game” featuring Ed Sheeran and Future reached the top 15.
“Delicate” was named the #1 song of 2017 by Rollingstone, saying “Is it cool that I said all that?” – oh, so now she asks us. After 10 years of brazen overshares, Taylor turns this breathy vocoder whisper into a hyper-emotional love song that feels intimate and massive at the same time, flowing like an impulsive confession though it’s meticulously put together. Her voice disappears into the groove, as she slips off for a late-night rendezvous. (Bonus detail: Tay has no idea how bars work. You don’t send your date to make you a drink; the bartender fixes it while your date stands there feeling stupid and you check your phone looking bored. Welcome to hanging out in dive bars, Tay – you’re going to love it!) At heart, “Delicate” is a story about a girl in her room, hearing an electro-beat that lures her to go seek some scandalous adventures in the city lights. In other words, the story of pop music.”
“Delicate” is set to impact Pop Radio March 12-13 and has been named the most vulnerable and emotional song on the album by Swift.

Since “Delicate” isn’t the typical pop banger, it will be interesting to see what kind of life it takes. It’s a risky choice since it’s more emotional and not as fast paced as a lot of the other music out there right now, but that might also be what’s needed to set it a part and be a nice change of pace. There is a lot of depth missing in Pop Music, so it will be refreshing to have a more emotional song to connect to. After all, Sheeran’s music has been doing extremely well and he is very in tune with his emotions.
During the chorus of “Delicate” Swift sings,
“Is it cool that I said all that?
Is it chill that you’re in my head?
‘Cause I know that it’s delicate (delicate)
Is it cool that I said all that?
Is it too soon to do this yet?
‘Cause I know that it’s delicate
Isn’t it? Isn’t it? Isn’t it? Isn’t it?
Isn’t it? Isn’t it? Isn’t it?
Isn’t it delicate?”
The music video for “Delicate” comes out this sunday, March 11 during the iHeartRadio Awards. Look for it to follow on you tube afterwards! Swift posted a teaser to her socials!
