Shawna and Keifer played new music for the crowd that will be coming out soon on their brand new album! It’s been five years since their last album and the duo is gearing up to reveal their album artwork this Wednesday during their “Wino Wednesday” show, live from Nashville at the City Winery! (Tickets) They performed new songs called: “A Love Like This,” “Let’s Do Something Stupid” and Shawna’s favorite, “Masterpiece” which was written entirely by Keifer. Thompson Square Performs New Music on ‘This Is Us’ Tour!

Shawna and Keifer Thompson of Thompson Square are currently making their way across the country for their This Is Us tour. It had a stop in Southern California which is where I caught it! It comes back March 18 for another date and I couldn’t be more excited to catch another show!

The duo returned to Sycuan Casino in San Diego with just a guitar and their magical voices! There was no need for a band or flashy productions, just their harmonious voices and stories to keep the crowd entertained. They played new songs like “Masterpiece” inspired by their son, Cooper. Keifer got inspired while Shawna was pregnant and even mentions hearing the heartbeat! Check out a clip below!

After going five years with no new album, Thompson Square announced they have a new album coming in a few months! Their manager even teased it on social media along with T2 back in February!

“@scpenn Finally finished!! Rockin’ out to Thompson Square ‘s forthcoming album this am….. Go for launch in T-minus……….. stay tuned! #T2rBACK

Maren Morris Releases New Song “Dear Hate” After Route 91 Harvest Tragedy.

Maren Morris was the power Woman of Route 91 Harvest Festival as she was the second to last performer on the main stage Saturday night. To put it in perspective, Both Friday and Sunday only had 1 female performer and neither performed on the main stage, they were also the opening act of the entire day on the smaller stage. Saturday saw the most female performers, with 4, two on the smaller stage and 2 on the main stage. Only male acts were chosen to close out all three evenings.

It’s no secret it’s been harder for female acts to break through in Country Music, but both Morris and Lauren Alaina who also took the main stage proved they had just as right to that stage as any male!

Following the tragedy of the terrible shooting Sunday night at the festival, Marren released a previously unreleased song called “Dear Hate” which features Vince Gill.

Morris shared that she wrote this song three years ago and it never seemed like there would be a good time to put it out, but that she wanted to remind people of love and music during these dark times. Listen to the song below and view the photo gallery of her performing at the festival.

“Dear hate, I saw you on the news today…”

Morris put on an electrifying performance that media was allowed to shoot from the soundbooth. That being said, the photo gallery below was the most up close shots we could get! Enjoy!

Kelleigh Bannen Rocked Route 91 Harvest!

Going to Route 91 Harvest was driven by the sole reason that Country Artist Kelleigh Bannen was performing! She is after all one of our favorite artists/people to ever exist! We last saw her performing in June at CMA Fest and quite frankly, that entirely too long! She’s a gem and we feel lucky to have found her.

Bannen’s time in Las Vegas was short lived but not without exciting memories. I mean, who else got to share a nightcap with a RAT?!

Bannen kicked off the ‘Next From Nashville’ stage for day 2 of Route 91 Harvest and she did not disappoint! She performed songs off her EP including “Cheap Sunglasses,” Once Upon A,” “Landlocked” and even rapped TLC‘s “Waterfalls.” She ended her set with a very Vegas-esque song “Smoke When I Drink.”

Here’s a clip of “Daddy Got A Girlfriend” which has not officially been released yet!

After her set, Bannen even took time to meet all the fans who wanted to say hi and get a picture with the singer/songwriter. She shared more on social media later, including videos on her Instagram story where she watched Maren Morris and Sam Hunt from backstage! Clearly, she had no fun at all!

Route 91 Artist Spotlight: Sam Hunt

Sam Hunt has got to be the hottest newcomer in country music right now. No, we don’t mean looks, but some might argue that. 🙂 Not only is he charting on Country Radio, but he is also charting high on Pop Radio as well! His single “Body Like A Backroad” is dominating the airwaves and it’s not a surprise with how talented he is!

Hunt will be headlining night 1 of Route 91 Harvest Festival which is a huge honor, especially for someone newer to the scene!
