If you have the opportunity to see The Driver Tour with Charles Kelley and his brother Josh Kelley, take it! Charles is one-third of Lady Antebellum and he reassured fans they will be working on new music this fall!
Josh Kelley recently released his album “New Lane Road” and shared stories as he performed songs from it. Josh is married to actress Katherine Heigl and shared the inspiration behind his song “It’s Your Move.” He got the idea in the middle of an argument, turned around and wrote down some lyrics after saying to his wife “it’s your move.” After finishing the song, he played it for her and she loved how honest it was.

Josh was a great opening act and Charles was so proud to introduce him to the crowd.

That wasn’t the only time we saw Josh perform. Charles brought him back out so they could perform a song they wrote together.
Charles was energetic and so entertaining. At one point he even got into the crowd and when security came to help him back out he said that he wanted to stay there!
He basically became a fan at his own concert!
Charles sang a mix of songs off his album “The Driver” and some well known Lady Antebellum music. The crowd new both the old and new music and Charles would frequently just listen to the crowd sing the words.
The opening song “Dancing Around It” is a personal favorite off the album. It’s catchy and just fun to sing and dance around to.
Charles also wanted to pay tribute to some of the great artists we have lost recently and did a cover of “Purple Rain” for Prince.
He also performed “Take It Easy” by Eagles in honor of Glenn Frey.
Kelley is loving his solo project and said that he has really missed being able to connect with the fans on a more personal level. To have time to tell stories behind the songs and be released and loose. There’s a lot more structure involved in big arena/stadium shows and this is helping him to be re-inspired.

I can’t wait for more music from Lady A soon and I am excited that Charles will be continuing his solo projects when Lady A is on break!
