Route 91 Harvest Festival Lineup Announcement!

What are two things that go together well? Country Music and Vegas! After finishing out ACM Week in Vegas, there is nothing better than to focus on all of the Country Acts making their way back out for the Route 91 Harvest Festival!

There is no shortage of talent on the lineup! Plus the full line up hasn’t even been revealed yet! That means there is going to be even more extraordinary talent! The festival takes place at the Las Vegas Village across from Luxor September 30, 2016- October 2, 2016.

ACM Special Award Winners Announced!

The Academy of Country Music® announced today the Special Awards, Studio Recording Awards and Songwriter of the Year Award winners for the 51ST ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS™. Honorees and winners will be celebrated during the 10th ANNUAL ACM HONORS™, an evening dedicated to recognizing the special honorees and off-camera category winners from the 51st Academy of Country Music Awards.  The event will take place in the fall at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN.

The Academy of Country Music Special Awards are voted on by the ACM Board of Directors for specific achievements.  The Studio Recording and Songwriter of the Year Awards are voted on by specific categories of the Academy’s professional membership.

ACM LIFTING LIVES GARY HABER AWARD – Carrie Underwood has been chosen to receive the ACM Lifting Lives Gary Haber Award. This new award, named in honor of late ACM Lifting Lives Chairman Gary Haber, was created by the ACM Lifting Lives Board of Directors to recognize a country music artist or industry professional who is committed to serving others, has a generosity of spirit and shows a dedication to helping those in need.

CAREER ACHIEVEMENT AWARD – Glen Campbell has been chosen to receive the Career Achievement Award, which honors artists who have advanced the popularity and acceptance of country music through their endeavors in the entertainment industry in multiple areas during the preceding calendar year.

 CLIFFIE STONE PIONEER AWARD – Crystal Gayle, Tanya Tucker and The Statler Brothers have been chosen to receive the Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award honoring individuals who are pioneers in the country music genre.

CRYSTAL MILESTONE AWARD – Little Big Town has been chosen to receive the Crystal Milestone Award, which is given to an artist or industry leader to commemorate a specific, remarkable achievement.

JIM REEVES INTERNATIONAL AWARD – Jeff Walker (awarded posthumously) has been chosen to receive the Jim Reeves International Award, which is presented to an artist or industry leader for outstanding contributions to the acceptance of country music throughout the world.

MAE BOREN AXTON AWARD – Keith Urban has been chosen as the recipient of the Mae Boren Axton Award, which is given to an outstanding individual recognizing years of dedication and service to the Academy of Country Music.

 POET’S AWARD – Eddie Rabbitt (awarded posthumously) and Jimmy Webb have been chosen to receive the Poet’s Award, which honors songwriters for outstanding musical and/or lyrical contributions throughout their careers in the field of country music.

TEX RITTER AWARD – As previously announced, Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors has been chosen as the recipient of the Tex Ritter Award, which is given to recognize a movie released receiving significant exposure that featured or utilized country music, during the preceding calendar year. This award will be presented to Dolly Parton during the live 51st Academy of Country Music Awards telecast on April 3rd.

ACM: Vocal Group Of The Year: This award is presented to an outstanding group featuring at least one vocalist in the country music indu12651092_10153526983969102_2942441458523789394_nstry during the prior calendar year of November 27, 2014 to November 25, 2015. The factors to be considered include, but are not limited to, success at radio, sales of pre- recorded music, success in digital media, live concert ticket sales and vocal performances.

Eli Young Band– 2011 ACM winners for Song Of The Year, Eli Young Band is nominated for Vocal Group of the Year. It is their 4th time being nominated for the honor. Mike Eli said

“We have some really cool new music coming, and this nomination is a great way to get started talking about what we have coming around the corner. We’re grateful for the nomination and can’t wait to share the new music with our fans. Vegas here we come!”

Their song “Turn It On” was the most added song to radio on march 9, 2015. They also released a duet with Andy Grammar “Honey, I’m Good.” The band has just finished recording their new album.

Little Big Town – It’s no Doubt, LBT is on fire, winning a GRAMMY for Best Country Duo/Group Performance  “Girl Crush”  which was released Dec 15, 2014 and went to number 1 in May 2015. They are the reigning Vocal Group of the Year and will definitely be hard to beat with all of their latest success.

Old Dominion– First time nominees, Old Dominion is nominated for both Vocal Group and New Vocal Group. Their album Meat and Candy released in November 2015 debuted at #3 on the US country chart. Their Single “Break Up With Him” reached #1 on US Country Airplay and #3 on US Country.

“As songwriters, we started playing together so our songs would be heard and people would hopefully want to cut them. So to know that as a band we have been honored by receiving this type of recognition has us all feeling incredibly grateful and truthfully, a little speechless.”

Rascal Flatts– Arguably one of the most talented and long standing acts in Country Music and one of the most snubbed. They were the ACM Top New Vocal Group in 2000. and Top Vocal Group  2002-2005. They won again 2007-2008 and haven’t won since. This is their 11th nomination for Vocal Group of the Year. If they win, this will be their eighth trophy in this category. They are the current record holders for most wins in the Vocal Group of the Year category. Their single “I Like The Sound Of That” was released in August 2015 and made it to #9 on the US Country Airplay Charts and #15 on The Us Country Charts.

Zac Brown Band– ACM 2009 Winner for Best New Vocal Duo/Group. They have won this category in 2012. They had two #1 songs in 2015 with “Homegrown” and “Loving You Easy.” Their 3rd single “Beautiful Drug” charted at #3.
